Ouarzazate excursion

Ouarzazate is a new town that is located about 200 km from the city of Marrakech. The tourist interest of this city comes essentially from its region and not from the city itself as it doesn’t contain many attractions.

 

The region of Ouarzazate has a surprising contrast formed by valleys, groves, green oasis in addition to its many kasbahs characterized by their impressive architecture and great towers. Ouarzazate is known as being the gateway to the desert and the starting point for many excursions to discover the deep south of Morocco and its natural wealth.

 

Starting from Marrakech you will discover beautiful scenery and you will go through the High Atlas and the Tichka pass that reaches 2260m above sea level, it is the highest pass in Africa.

 

This excursion will take you to visit the most beautiful kasbahs in the south of Morocco in particular the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou which is classified a World Heritage Site, it is fascinating with its unique architecture and its beautiful towers. The Kasbah of Taourirt which was the residence of the Pasha Glaoui was recently restored and it is attractive by its painted wood ceilings and camel ridestunning views of the oasis and the lake of El Mansour Dahbi barrage. Tifoultout and Telouet are also two Kasbahs that worth a visit and you’ll visit them if we have enough time left to do so.

 

Ouarzazate is also known for its movie studios where many famous films were shot as Lawrence of Arabia, the diamondof Nil, Asterix and Obelix and Cleopatra. This is the Hollywood of Morocco that attracts many filmmakers especially for the clarity of the light and the beauty of the natural decor in this region. You will be able to visit the studios and the film museum containing various items used in films previously shot in these studios. That is not all that Ouarzazate offers to see but to go round all the sites that are worth visiting and exploring all the beauty that this place provides.
